Our Youth Trapping Camp is one of our most popular events each year! This hands-on camp will teach youth basic fundamental skills in the sport of trapping. Students will help set and check a trap line, learn about trapping equipment and game identification, observe proper pelt preparation and discuss trapper ethics.

This camp satisfies the IDNR Trapper Safety Education requirement to obtain an Illinois Trapper License. In addition to their Trapper Safety card, youth will have a chance to go home with trapping equipment. We are proud to partner with IDNR and the Illinois Trappers Association for this event every year.

Open for boys & girls ages 10+ who have not previously attended our Youth Trapping Camp. Youth must be able to attend both days: Saturday March 4th: 8am to 4pm & Sunday March 5th: 8am to Noon. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Event takes place over two days- NOTE: not an overnight camp and is free to all participants. Youth must be supervised by an adult (Note: One adult may supervise multiple youth- see form.)
