Calling Youth Fisher-boys and girls, Ages 10-15: If you’re hooked on fishing, come on out for this 3-Day DayCamp and learn all about the different species of fish in our area, the ecosystem in which they thrive, and about non-fish species that you may also encounter on a fishing trip. You will be taught different methods of fishing, safety, conservation, and will get to test your skills by casting your own line in our fishing pond. Explore the banks of the pond for netting non-fish species and enjoy this great summer activity at Gardner Camp. Our final day will include a fishing derby and a cook-out for lunch with awards and prizes given.

We will provide bait and tackle. We have fishing poles available for use, but youth are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Bug Spray, Sunscreen available for use. Snack/ drink will be provided.

This event is provided in partnership with the Illinois Conservation Foundation. There is no cost and it is open to boys and girls age 10-15. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 15 youth. Registration will close when limit is met. Youth are expected to attend all three days.
