Wildlife Encounters- Duck Banding

Learn all about the most beautiful species of waterfowl in our area. Learn from an IDNR biologist about the banding process for wood ducks found at Gardner Camp. We will discuss how and why wood ducks are banded, the life cycle of a wood duck and talk about their unique nesting preferences. After this, the group will get to handle and release ducks that were banded just the night before by a team of biologists on Trester Lake. Snack included. No cost. This event is provided in partnership with the Illinois Conservation Foundation. Age 10+. This event is limited to limited to 20 youth.
