In partnership with the Illinois Conservation Foundation, we held our final Wildlife Encounter Series workshop: Wood Duck Banding on August 28th. A great group of 15 youth and 11 adults joined us bright and early on a Saturday to learn from an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Biologist about waterfowl management and conservation and were able to assist in banding and releasing close to forty ducks. Gardner Camp partners with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources every year to band hundreds of wood ducks for research. This workshop is typically held every August.
