Wildlife Encounters: Turtle Ecology

June 26, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Did you know that an adult snapping turtle can bite through a wooden broom handle and can weigh as much as an average 6th-grade boy?! Find out more about these fascinating living ‘dinosaurs’ found in our area.  Gardner Camp is home to a variety of turtle species including red-eared sliders, painted turtles, and snappers among others.   Take advantage of this opportunity to interact with turtles and learn about their fascinating features.  This event is part of our Wildlife Encounters series hosted in partnership with the Illinois Conservation Foundation. Any youth, age 8+ may participate. Pre-registration is required: https://form.jotform.com/211585031801143.
